All About Self Hypnosis (and how it can change your life for the better) Part 1


I wanted to tell you about self hypnosis, or autohypnosis as its sometimes called. Its an incredibly powerful state that can help you to change your thinking, kick bad habits and take control of who you are. We are literally in hypnosis for most of the time and don't realise it. Self hypnosis is just a self-directed state and all you need is a little time, and a quiet, comfortable place where you wont be disturbed.

Anyone can do it, but it takes patience and regular practice, and when mastered can have the most incredible results. So why not give it a go and see where it takes you? By harnessing the incredible power of your mind you take control of any situation and that has to be good.

First of all decide on your hypnosis goals.

Are you doing it just to relax?

For self-improvement? To train your brain?

If you're doing it to achieve a greater end (weight loss, quitting smoking, etc.), prepare a list of affirmations.

Self-hypnosis can be used just for relaxation, sure, but it can be for a number of life-enhancing things, too. Many use it to achieve their goals, change their thinking, or just as general positive reinforcement or motivation. for some examples of affirmations you could try go to

Here are some examples of affirmations you could try:

• If you want to stop a bad habit, something direct and to the point is the most effective. Think along the lines of, "I choose to stop smoking. Cigarettes have no appeal to me."

• If you want to think more positively, aim for something like, "I am capable of whatever I set my mind to. I am completely in control and I know my value."

• If you want to reach a specific goal, like weight loss, say it in the present tense: "I am eating healthily. I am losing my excess weight. My clothes feel better and I feel better."

These are statements you will be reciting to yourself when you're in a hypnotic state. You don't have to do this but it can be a very effective and focused way of achieving your goals.
